Monster gamble: Joseph O’Brien horse backed from 8-1 into 11-4 at Limerick 🚀

Joseph O'Brien celebrates winning the Irish Gold Cup with Edwulf

Our resident horse racing man Adrian Wall has always been an avid market watcher. He has spotted a pretty large ongoing gamble taking place in the 4.30pm at Limerick today. Don’t miss out on our posts on Twitter @myracingtips where you can message us directly and have your say. Our free horse racing tips are also available every single day and we have been in terrific form this month. Let’s take a closer look at this big gamble in more detail below.

4.30 Limerick

The Toshihiro Matsumoto-owned Toshizou is making giant waves in the betting markets this morning and it is no surprise either, backed from 8-1 into 11-4 in places. A regally-bred son of Galileo and related to Invincible Spirt through the dam side, pedigrees don’t get much better than his.

The form of his third in a Leopardstown maiden over 7f in July 2020 has worked out really well. The winner Masen went on to win a Leopardstown Premier Handicap and a Listed prize before going down narrowly in a Grade 1 at Keeneland this month.

Back in fourth was Aidan O’Brien’s Van Gogh, who went on to win the Group 1 Criterium at Saint-Cloud before finishing third in the Irish 2,000 Guineas. Even the sixth Blue For You has won twice since and is was rated as high as 96, 2lb higher than Toshizou’s current mark.

Toshizou won a Tipperary maiden on his second start and although he hasn’t set the world alight since, he will be best caught fresh and is lurking off a very dangerous mark. Trip and ground should be fine and he could be a stone ahead of the handicapper here if his maiden form is to be believed.
