2.00 Wexford

Backed from highs of 100-1 all the way into 13-2 in places this morning, it may seem strange to see all this money for the top horse, Agirlcalledchloe. She has since drifted back out a bit in the market, now around the 16-1 to 20-1 mark generally.

Top claimer Paddy O’Hanlon, who won the Irish Grand National this year, will take the ride on Philip Rothwell’s charge. The mare was pulled up when running over the extended 2m7f at Fairyhouse last time in handicap company.

However, she steps back into maiden company here and drops back down to 2m, a trip that should suit her much better. In all honesty, it is difficult to see why there has been money for her, as her form has been utterly abysmal.

That might make the gamble even more interesting, mind. Rothwell has pulled off many a gamble of this kind in the past, so it would be no surprise to see him do it again. This is probably as weak a race as she has run in, so let’s see how she fares. She has it all to do. bet365 are a standout 66s at the time of posting.
