Monster failed Dundalk gamble horse is sent over to Wolverhampton on Saturday ⛴️

Wolverhampton Sprint

Peter Fahey doesn’t send too many runners over to Britain but when he does he means business and has a very healthy yield. It was only two weeks ago that he sent Zoffany Bay over to Ascot, who finished second in a big race off the back of a very lengthy absence. Fahey sends one horse over to Wolverhampton Racecourse on Saturday night and he has to be of interest. 6.00 Wolverhampton

The horse in question is Qaabil, who will take his chance in this low grade race for runners rated 0-50 and on the face of it he has a big chance. This horse was backed off the boards late three weeks ago, going from 40-1 into 5-1 in a matter of minutes prior to the race at Dundalk. That was a 47-65 rated handicap so this is a big drop down in class and he finished a respectable fifth.

Ridden in rear early, he made late headway but the bird had flown on the day, and no doubt some fingers were heavily burnt. This represents a great opportunity to gain compensation, however. Qaabil was once rated as high as 74 and should be more than good enough to land a race of this nature. Kevin Stott has been booked to ride the horse and that is a huge positive, as he is operating at 22 per cent at Wolverhampton in the last five years, phenomenal numbers.
