Boxing Day was a good day for our ITV outsiders as we tipped Hewick at 16-1 for the King George VI Chase. We’ll be attempting to follow up with three more interesting outsiders on a cracking card at Leopardstown on Thursday. These include a 28-1 shot for the Grade 1 Savills Chase which could spring a surprise. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Ballyadam (25-1, Paddy Power) hasn’t tried three miles since winning his sole Irish point at Portrush in October 2019. Henry de Bromhead’s eight-year-old was a respectable third over fences behind the useful Hercule Du Seuil when last seen. He was victorious over 2m4f at Wexford in July and could be worth giving ago over this extended 2m7f, now back over hurdles. The staying hurdle division is very open and that leaves the door open for a big price winner here.
I Am Maximus (28-1, bet365) was victorious in the Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse in April and began the current campaign with victory in a Grade 1 novice chase over 2m4f last time out. Found A Fifty finished second and has since boosted the form of that race by winning a Grade 1 here on Boxing Day. The Return to three miles will certainly suit I Am Maximus and a big run is expected.
M C Muldoon (14-1, William Hill) hasn’t been seen over hurdles for quite some time and has been running in marathon Flat races. It’s fair to say he’s pretty unexposed over timber and he scored in a novice hurdle over an extended 2m4f when last seen in this sphere. Making his handicap debut here, the trip should be to his liking.
