Fakenham

Paul Nicholls doesn’t send runners over to the Norfolk track with too much regularity but they’re worth looking out for when he does. The Somerset-based handler has had six winners from just 14 runners at Fakenham in the last five seasons, giving him a notable strike-rate of 43 per cent. He runs Seeyouinmydreams and Soir De Gala on Tuesday and it’s the former that catches the eye.

Ffos Las

Nicky Henderson and Nico de Boinville have a strike-rate of 42 per cent when combing at Ffos Las and the pair join forces with one runner on Tuesday. Old Time Chaser was third in his sole Irish point and was a well beaten fourth for this yard at Ascot in March. Entitled to improve for the run, Henderson runners in novice hurdles are always worth considering.

Southwell

Amateur jockey Murray Dodd has had three winners from his four rides in the last fortnight which is very impressive indeed. He’s set to ride My Virtue for Mel Rowley at Southwell on Tuesday and the rider could hardly be in better form. Third in a similar race over course and distance on his penultimate start, the horse should be very competitive once again, especially off a 4lb lower mark.

Hereford

Archie Watson is perhaps better known for his exploits as a Flat trainer but he’s got plenty of National Hunt winners to his name. The Lambourn-based trainer’s only other hurdling debutant at Hereford was victorious, giving him a 100 per cent record. Lunanera makes his first start over hurdles on Tuesday and will be looking to maintain and extend Watson’s perfect strike-rate.
