It’s rare to see half-siblings racing on the same day, very rare to see full-siblings out on the same afternoon. Frankel and Noble Mission would be the most remembered in recent times, Sunday seeing a pair of sisters both in action. The pair are either side of the Irish Sea, one at Navan and one at Newbury, making up a 95-1 each-way double between them.
Rock On Cassie caught the eye a few weeks back over a furlong shorter at this track, making Newman’s Notebook in the process. She was a 40-1 winner just a week later, booking her ticket for the step up to this Listed level. On the bare form in the book, she has a bit to find but has only had three starts in her life.
She gives the impression that the more of a test of stamina that she is given, the better she is going to get. A little over two and a half miles on a stiff track and on this soft ground should give her exactly that.
A year older than her sister is the Jeremy Scott-trained Lady Kk. She is back over hurdles here having run over fences so far this season, not really going on from a smart debut over the bigger obstacles. Given a wind op since last seen in action, she may do better now back hurdling.
Her opening chase saw her placed from three pounds higher than this so she is on a workable mark. Her best form came in the spring last year, trying three miles over hurdles for just the second time, the first of those on good to firm. No shock if she takes a step back in the right direction.
