Jockey with 100 per cent strike-rate in Britain goes to Chelmsford for one ride 💯

Harry Davies made a big name for himself when racking up 67 winners as an apprentice last season. The young rider has had just one ride in Britain so far this season and came out victorious, scoring for Charlie Appleby at Chelmsford. He returns to the track to ride just one again for the same trainer and the jockey now has an unbeaten record to protect.

5.15 Chelmsford

Sithchean makes her debut for Charlie Appleby and Godolphin. Her pedigree looks particularly exciting as she’s a half-sibling of 2021 2000 Guineas runner-up, Master Of The Seas. If ending up even half as good as that horse, she’ll be winning this with the jockey doing handstands on her back.

Harry Davies claims 3lb here which is an absolute steal and this Appleby/Davies combination could be one to look out for when the turf season kicks off. It’s also worth noting that the form figures of Charlie Appleby’s last four runners in Britain are 1212. His 27 per cent strike-rate in the last fortnight is also solid, especially as most of his runners have been in competitive races abroad.

I don’t think many will be surprised of this three-year-old filly makes a winning start to her career, she has a lot in her favour and these novice races are her trainer’s bread and butter. There’s an interesting John & Thady Gosden runner in opposition and it could be a danger. With her jockey taking 3lb off however, Sithchean could well get the job done on debut.
