There’s no fewer than ten races live on ITV this Saturday, with Sandown, Musselburgh and Leopardstown being covered. As there are a number of each-way opportunities available, we’ve selected three outsiders at big prices that can outrun their odds. It’s a competitive day of racing and the favourites won’t have it all their own way. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Magna Sam (22-1, Boylesports) has an unblemished record here at Musselburgh. Alastair Ralph’s gelding won both his starts here, whilst trained by Sophie Leech. Those two wins came by a combined distance of 59 lengths. One negative would be that this is his first start for 267 days. It’s hard to knock his course record and he tries this marathon trip of almost four miles for the first time.
Wilde About Oscar (20-1, bet365) has perhaps failed to fulfil his promise as a Listed-winning novice hurdler. This has caused him to slide down the weights in a big way. His current rating of 136 is a stone lower than his career-high mark of 150. It was a disappointing effort last time as he ran a nice race here when third by a narrow margin two starts ago. Has it in him to win off this mark and it could prove prudent to keep the faith, especially at this price.
Movethechains (14-1, Paddy Power) can be forgiven for his run in the Welsh Grand National at Chepstow last time. Winning a gruelling race of that nature without having had a prep run was always going to be an impossible task. Hugely progressive over fences last season when winning four on the bounce by a total of of 62 lengths. There could well be more to come here.
