‘It’s their home away from home’ – three Southwell specialists form 94-1 treble 🏠

Back in the days of the Fibresand surface, Southwell was always a specialist track. That trend has continued now that the surface is Tapeta. With this in mind, we’ve picked out three horses running at the Nottinghamshire track on Tuesday. All three selections have excellent records at the track and Southwell is their home away from home. 7.00 Southwell

Intervention (11-2, bet365) has an excellent record here at Southwell, having won two of his three starts. One of those wins came over this trip of 7f back in February off a mark of 57. Now rated 78 but it’s fair to say he’s a much better horses now. His only unsuccessful trip here came over an inadequate 5f and off a 3lb higher mark. Despite this, he was fourth and just missed out on a place.

7.30 Southwell

Zealot (11-10, William Hill) is yet to finish outside of the first two in three starts here, winning twice. Arrives off the back of a hat-trick of wins and the handicapper is yet to catch up with him. The winning distances have been getting shorter but he remains lightly raced and potentially unexposed. Mick Appleby has found the secret to this horse and the winning run can continue.

8.00 Southwell

Zuckerberg (6-1, bet365) remains unexposed on the all-weather, having had just seven starts. Victorious when last seen over course and distance last month at a big price. Up 2lb for that win which is unlikely to cause too much inconvenience. That victory gives him a 100 per cent record here, one which he has a big chance of defending. Jenny Candlish’s gelding can continue progressing and win again.
