Wathnan Racing purchased Sing Us A Song (3/1, bet365) shortly before Royal Ascot from some very shrewd owners for an undisclosed amount. Sing Us A Song finished ninth in the King George V Stakes Handicap at Royal Ascot after being very well backed and having absolutely no luck in running. Wathnan love targeting the major festivals, and everything looks set for him to get his first win for new connections.
It’s hard to argue with the form behind Lady Iman (6/4, bet365). She beat Royal Ascot runaway winner True Love. Lady Iman has three wins from four starts, and she was second on her most recent run over 6f. The return to the minimum trip is right up her street. She’s all class and speed. Goodwood should suit her down to a tee.
The banker of the week for many is Field Of Gold (2/5, bet365) in the Sussex Stakes. He’s arguably the best horse in training and one of the best three-year-olds that we’ve seen for a long time. Stablemate Qirat has been supplemented to set the fractions for him. After his stunning victory in the St James’s Palace Stakes, it’s hard to see how anything can beat him.
Leadman (13/2, bet365) brings some excellent form to the table. He won at the Newmarket July Festival and the form of that race is exceptional. The third that day won the International Handicap at Ascot last weekend and the fourth has also scored since. He’s been raised just 4lb and also has Goodwood specialist William Buick on board. It’s hard to argue against him.
