Irish trainer sends one horse on 600-mile round trip to York on Sunday

Irish trainer Jonny Levins is sending one runner all the way to York Racecourse on Sunday. Based in the Curragh in County Kildare in Ireland, the total journey is roughly a 600 mile round trip. Given the expense for fuel at the moment, it will cost a hefty sum to get this horse over to the Yorkshire track so they aren’t going for the fun of it, that’s for sure. Best of luck if you do have a bet on the horse and remember to always only bet what you can afford to lose.

2.55 York

The horse in question is their sprinter Prisoner’s Dilemma, who will travel to York to try win a very decent pot on offer. The Listed Garrowby Stakes looks like a very competitive contest on paper, but this horse has every chance on what he has shown so far this year.

Rated just 78 on the all weather at Dundalk this time last year, this 6yo son of Toronado has risen through the ranks for the yard. He won three times at Dundalk over 6f and 7f during the winter months, but has shown plenty of toe over 5f and 6f since.

Second in a strong Listed race at the Curragh in June, he went on to bolt up in a Curragh handicap off a lofty mark of 102 when last seen in August. That was comfortably a career best in my book and there could be even more progression to come for this up and coming sprinter, despite his age. It would be great for the yard to win such a pot so best of luck to them.
