Irish raider alert: Jessica Harrington’s sole runner at York on Friday is 12-1 🚨

Jessica Harrington is one of the best dual-purpose trainers around, having trained Classic winners and a Cheltenham Gold Cup winner. She sends just one runner over to York on Friday and it’s worth keeping an eye on. Harrington has only had 20 runners at York throughout her career and this one could be her second course winner. The horse in question is currently available at 12-1 and comes into the race with a very interesting profile. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

2.25 York

Sounds Of Heaven has had just two starts so far and showed promise on debut, when finishing fourth at Gowran. She then took a huge step forward on her second start at Leopardstown and managed to get off the mark. The form of that race has been boosted by the runner-up, who has become a useful three-year-old and wasn’t disgraced in a French Group 1 last weekend.

This filly wasn’t a cheap purchase, costing 650,000 guineas. One look at her pedigree will tell you why she was so expensive. Her half-sister placed in Listed company but her dam is a beautifully bred full-sister to the likes of Hermosa and Hydrangea, who won four Group 1s between them. You could hardly ask for a better pedigree, as she’s also by the brilliant Kingman.

Jessica Harrington’s horses tend to improve with age as she’s a patient trainer and there should be plenty more to come from this filly. Irish jockey Ronan Whelan also makes the journey over to take the ride which is arguably a suggestion of confidence. Sounds Of Heaven has a fascinating profile and if she finds some improvement at three, this 12-1 price could prove to be very generous.
