“I’m really sweet on his chances” – Owen’s 33-1 and 14-1 Friday ITV Outsiders 🍬

Perhaps my favourite meeting of the entire National Hunt season, the Tingle Creek Festival kicks off on Friday. The first big meeting I attended, Sandown has a special place in my heart and I can’t wait to see Chacun Pour Soi lock horns with Nube Negra on Saturday. We’ll have horse racing tips for both days of ITV action, including a NAP of the Day.

There are six meetings on ITV tomorrow and I’ve picked out a pair of runners who look to have above-average claims. At prices of 28-1 and 14-1, you can find all my analysis below!

3.15 Exeter – Visit betting.bet Chase

I’m really scratching my head at the price of The Late Legend (33-1) in this marathon contest. It’s likely an overreaction to this seasons form, but given it’s come over the smaller obstacles, I’m more than happy to dismiss it and give him another chance.

He gained his most recent win over fences at Doncaster in January, making all the running off today’s rating of 112. That was over the three-mile trip, but his record at 3m 2f and beyond currently reads 2111. On that evidence, he has untapped potential over this marathon trip.

This mark is well within range, as evidenced by that Doncaster success, and with Luke Scott taking a further seven pounds off his back, I’m really sweet on his chances, even if he’s up in grade.

3.35 Sandown – Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle

For avid followers of my outsiders, you’ll recognise The Cob (14-1). He was part of my enormous winning double from back in January and he’s once again snuck into a race under the radar for Ben Pauling.

Winning the Grade 2 River Don at Doncaster back in January in impressive fashion, he was outclassed when down the field in the Albert Bartlett last time. He’s been absent since March, but he does have a good record fresh and ground conditions should be in his favour (if the weather is to be believed).

An opening mark of 136, on his best novice form, looks very lenient and he wouldn’t need to improve much on last year’s form to be playing a leading role in this. This sort of test will certainly suit and at double-figure odds, he’s difficult to ignore.
