‘I’d want 11-10 that he turns up’ – Liam Bramall takes on Shishkin in the big one 🚀

The Betfair Tingle Creek takes place at Sandown on Saturday. One of the finest races outside of Cheltenham, it’s always one of the season’s highlights. Nicky Henderson’s Shishkin is favourite for the race at 11-10 but Liam Bramall think’s he could be vulnerable. There is one major contender who’s in the best position to claim victory. 2.55 Sandown

Greaneteen (15-8, William Hill) is the most likely winner of this prestigious race. There are a multitude of reasons to take on Shishkin who looks vulnerable here.

11-10 is far too short a price for a horse making its seasonal debut after putting in such an abysmal effort last time. Shishkin will need to be at his very best to beat Greaneteen and there’s just no way of knowing what we’re going to get from him. Another issue is that you can never guarantee he’s actually going to race. Nicky Henderson could easily pull him out at the last minute which means I’d want 11-10 that he turns up.

Paul Nicholl’s charge is a three-time Grade 1-winner here at Sandown which absolutely makes him a course specialist. On the evidence of his reappearance run at Exeter, it seems as if he has improved over the summer. It was a monstrous effort to win the Haldon Gold Cup off 168 by a margin of seven lengths.

If there’s a trainer who knows how to win the Tingle Creek, it’s Paul Nicholls. The champion trainer has won this race a record 12 times, including with Greaneteen last year. You can be sure this horse will be primed and ready to deliver a career-best performance on Saturday. This horse perhaps doesn’t get the respect he deserves and he can prove the doubters wrong by delivering the goods here.
