3.45 Curragh

It was only a matter of time, wasn’t it? It looks like the handbrake could finally be off Dreal Deal today, a horse who is absolutely thrown in on the Flat. Rated 143 over hurdles and a Grade 2 winner in that sphere, he is somehow running off a Flat mark of just 69 with top up and coming rider Dylan Browne McMonagle booked for the spin.

Form figures that read 0011/0000 sum up what this horse is all about, and in fact most of what McNally’s horses are all about. They usually either win or else they are tailed off. Backed from a high of 66-1 last night all the way into 5-2 last night at one point, Dreal Deal is still the favourite for the race and is currently best priced 5s with bet365.

If you take his hurdling form literally, and you should, then technically he should have a Flat mark of roughly 100. That means that this horse could be about two stone well in. If the money is genuine, then he is a very likely winner and that is the bottom line here.
