Horses for courses: three horses form monster 728-1 accumulator at Newcastle

It’s another great evening of action on ITV Racing to look forward to on Thursday and there’s a lot of competitive racing to look forward to. ITV will be showing all seven races from Newcastle Racecourse. We’ve picked out three runners with proven records and combined them into a monster treble. 5.45 Newcastle

True Courage was tailed off at Yarmouth when last seen but a return to this track might just spark a revival. The gelding won over this course and distance off a mark of 81 last September, and he is now 1lb below that last winning mark. He really needs to leave a shocking run well behind him but Michael Bell’s might just be about to hit a purple patch and some money for this horse wouldn’t be a surprise.

6.45 Newcastle

The only course winner in the field here is Billy Mill. He has been hit or miss on both grass and turf in recent times but nearly took advantage of a slide in the weights when just narrowly denied at Kempton over a mile this month. If he can build on that, he must have a massive chance.

7.15 Newcastle

Champagne Sarah gave a winner a very soft lead when running on well at Newmarket this month, and she has won two and finished second twice in her last four runs, so is clearly in great heart. This stiff track should suit her running style and she is taken to get on top late on provided there is a strong pace up at the front.
