Ben Curtis is on fire at the moment as he’s in unbelievable form. He’s currently riding at a 29 per cent strike-rate in the last fortnight with nine winners from 31 rides. If you combine his wins and places, this shoots up to 48 per cent. With almost half of his rides finishing in the first three, Curtis looks to be getting the most out of his mounts as he’s riding out of his skin. It could therefore be significant that he makes the trip to Redcar on Monday for just a single ride. Check out our free tips page for content across all British and Irish racing.
Ben Curtis takes the ride on Glorious Angel and she’s the most experienced filly in the field. The Hugo Palmer-trained two-year-old has had three career starts to date. All three have shown enough promise to suggest she’s capable of winning races. She came closest to winning when stepped up to 6f for the first time at Haydock when last seen.
Her run in the Lily Agnes at Chester wasn’t as bad as the result suggests as plenty went wrong for her at the start and she was always playing catch up from then on. All the evidence suggests that she can win a race like this and if she settles better here, this could be the day. It seems likely that Ben Curtis will give her every chance to get her head in front and she should be breaking that maiden tag at the fourth time of asking.
