Billy Loughnane has taken the world by storm since starting his riding career. He had five rides at Lingfield on Saturday and came away with a hat-trick. This isn’t a freak performance either as he has been riding like that for most of the winter. His strike-rate in the last fortnight is 40 per cent, with six winners from just 15 rides. One thing is for sure, Billy Loughnane is an unbelievable talent.
The youngster still claims 5lb which is an absolute steal but at this rate, his claim won’t last long at all. Loughnane has four rides at Wolverhampton on Monday and we’ve combined his two best chances into a juicy 29-1 double. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Glorious Angel (5-1, William Hill) completed a hat-trick of wins back in January. Billy Loughnane was on board for the last of those wins and he was claiming 7lb at the time. The final win in the sequence came off a mark of 88 and she is currently rated just 1lb higher. The fact that her jockey’s claim is 2lb less this time, effectively makes her 3lb worse off. That isn’t an insurmountable burden and with Loughnane back on board, she has every chance of returning to the winners’ enclosure.
Daheer (4-1, William Hill) finished second to an in-form rival at Lingfield last time out. Trained by Billy’s father Mark, that latest effort was indicative of a return to form, after a couple of disappointing efforts the last twice. He won over course and distance off this mark last April and he has the extra benefit of his jockey’s 5lb claim this time around. Conditions look set for a big run and with a jockey in such good form, you certainly couldn’t rule out victory here.
