‘He targets this track’ – Ralph Beckett aims 29-1 double strike at Leicester 🎯

Leicester has been a happy hunting ground for trainer Ralph Beckett so far this season. With just 10 runners at the track this campaign, he has come away with five winners. This 50 per cent strike-rate is not be sniffed at and it indicates that he targets this track. It could therefore be significant that he sends two runners up to the East Midlands on Tuesday. Beckett has had 14 two-year-old winners so far this term and he’ll be looking to increase that tally with two juveniles here. Daydream Dancer (9-2, bet365) will need to take another step forward but that isn’t out of the question. The Oasis Dream filly has had to starts to date and improved significantly from first to second run. She finished fourth at Sandown last time and maidens there tend to be on the stronger side. One of two twice-raced horses in the field, the advantage of that experience cannot be overstated with juveniles who are learning their trade. If she can continue progressing and make the most of her experience, there’s every reason to expect a big run.

You Saw Brigadoon (9-2, bet365) makes his debut over 7f which should be an ideal starting point. His breeding suggests he’s well up to winning this providing he’s forward enough. Kingman is his sire and he started out over 7f before going on to be a champion miler. It’s also significant that his dam was a useful horse for Andrew Balding over 7f and placed at Listed level over a mile. Winning on debut as a juvenile is tough but he has the pedigree to get the job done.
