‘Get on it, he’ll win’ – Owner thinks his horse is a good thing on Saturday 👀

We are set for a thrilling day of action live on ITV Racing on Saturday as the Northumberland Plate will take centre stage at Newcastle Racecourse. An owner was interviewed on Attheraces recently and he was extremely bullish about the chances of his runner in the big handicap of the day, stating: ‘Get on it, he’ll win’. There is confidence for you!

2.05 Newcastle

Run over the extended two miles, the Northumberland Plate is a big handicap and it has been won by some classy staying types in the past, including last year’s winner Trueshan, and Withhold. Rajinsky is the class act in the race this year but he will have a huge weight to overcome and it is a tall order for Hugo Palmer’s runner.

Moving onto the bullish claims by Gareth Cheshire, he owns Golden Rules, who was successful on his first start since leaving John & Thady Gosden off the back of a 638 day break at Kempton in March. That was a serious performance after such a lengthy absence and Oisin Murphy will again partner the horse for connections.

Trainer Deborah Faulkner only has 12 horses in training so winning this prestigious race would be a beautiful moment for her. The owner has told everyone to back his horse and he thinks he is a cert if his words are to be believed. Of course, there is no such thing and always treat such words with caution but he certainly is confident.
