Miss Calculation hasn’t been in the best of form lately but she’s being backed as if that is expected to change on Monday. Available at a massive 14-1 when priced up on Sunday evening, she has been catapulted up the market and is now second favourite for Wolverhampton’s opener.

Her recent form figures of 560057 don’t inspire a great deal of confidence but the handicapper has responded accordingly. The four-year-old filly joined Stella Barclay’s yard last month and perhaps a change of scenery can facilitate a return to form. She wasn’t suited by the trip on stable debut and the return to 7f is likely to help.

One thing that she certainly has in her favour here is that her current rating of 54 is 6lb lower than when last winning. Also a previous course and distance winner, she scored off a 3lb higher mark back in January. There’s evidence to suggest she could get back to winning ways and there are plenty that will be hoping she does, if the level of market support is anything to go by.
