Gamble alert: Stratford runner smashed into 17-2 from 33-1 on Sunday 🚨

Stratford Racecourse

Keeping an eye on the markets is always a good idea as we can learn plenty from doing so. Although there are no guarantees, it gives us a sense of the level of confidence behind a horse. There’s one runner at Stratford on Sunday that has been the subject of sustained market support.

The horse in question was available at 33-1 the previous evening but the support continues to come and he’s now as short as 17-2. It’ll certainly be interesting to see how this one plays out. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

Dakota Beat is the horse in question and it’s an interesting move to say the least. There are a couple of letters in his form figures but there were signs of a return to some sort of form last time out. We’re yet to see any signs that the support is waning and he’s still strong in the market. John Norton’s charge gets the assistance of conditional Joe Williamson here and he takes 5lb off.

It was a much better performance from this eight-year-old at Market Rasen last time out and he was beaten by less than five lengths back in sixth. The handicapper dropped him a pound for that effort  should help him out a bit here. That run came over an extended 2m4f however and he steps markedly up in trip to beyond 3m2f.

Norton’s eight-year-old has won once in 21 starts over hurdles and it came for his previous trainer Gavin Cromwell. Provided the trip causes no issues and if building on his latest effort, he should be capable of of making the frame.
