Gamble Alert – Southwell runner making fibresand debut backed from 25-1 into 10-1

Southwell Racecourse

Our resident horse racing expert Adrian Wall has always been an avid market watcher. He has spotted a pretty large ongoing gamble taking place in the 3.25pm at Southwell this afternoon. Don’t miss out on our posts on Twitter @myracingtips where you can message us directly and have your say. Our free horse racing tips are also available every single day and we have been in terrific form this month. Let’s take a closer look at this big gamble in more detail below…

3.25 Southwell

Trainer John Quinn had a decent year in 2020, operating at a healthy 12-per-cent and struck with 45 winners on the board. He doesn’t grace the fibresand at Southwell too often, with a total of 66 career runners at the venue resulting with 6 winners.

He runs fibresand debutant SEA ART in the 3.25pm, who could be lurking off of a very dangerous mark. When last seen, he was sent off 33-1 and was far from disgraced finishing fifth of 13 runners at Wolverhampton over 14f last month.

His last success came off of a 2lb higher mark, albeit on Turf at Bath. He was running creditably in 2020 on the Flat on grass and went close off 60 so running off 55 here, he is without doubt ahead of the assessor.

The big question is whether or not he will handle this unique surface – some take to it and some don’t. We will know early on whether he likes it or not. He stays further than this so the testing nature of the surface may play to his strengths.

Last night, this runner opened up 25-1 in the betting and now nearly every firm out there are around the 10-1 mark. The each way players have certainly got stuck in and someone is definitely expecting a big run from this runner.
