It’s just the three meetings on Sunday, with Navan, Sandown and Ffos Las providing racing. It’s s stark come down after a manic Friday and Saturday that had action stateside too, but Sandown provides a fantastic card that includes a match between Chantry House and The Big Breakaway.
We’ll have horse racing tips for all three, but there’s a gamble unfolding at Ffos Las. Rebecca Curtis has a strong record at the track, with 18 winners from 88 runners in the last five seasons. That equates to a level stakes profit of £9.61 and her below runner has come in for significant support this morning.
A dual point to point winner, Fanamix decimated a pair of fields at Tattersalls Farm and Knockmullen House last winter. The third from that Knockmullen House race has subsequently won three times under rules and the form of his other point win hasn’t worked out badly either. He has run once under rules, in a hunters’ chase at Limerick last December, where he was sent off at 5-1.
He was pulled up that day, but he stopped very quickly and didn’t handle the heavy going. Today’s slightly better going will certainly suit him and he should have a good future under rules. He’ll certainly improve for a fence, but 2m 4f is a good starting point and he’s been found a winnable race on his rules debut.
Ffos Las suits galloping horses, which he will likely turn out to be, and as previously mentioned, Rebecca Curtis does well at this venue. The fact he’s come in for significant support is very interesting and if that continues to pour in, then perhaps we’re going to see an impressive debut under Ben Jones.
