Gamble Alert – Hollie Doyle runner smashed from 13-2 into 9-4 at Wolverhampton

Wolverhampton Racecourse

Record breaking jockey Hollie Doyle is one of the most sought after riders in the land at present. She finished third on BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year a couple of weeks ago which was an incredible achievement. Not only that, but she has also picked up many prestigious awards of late too. She is proof that if given the opportunity, lady jockeys can be every bit as good as their male counterparts, if not better.

Gamble Alert

Hollie has six mounts at Wolverhampton racecourse tonight. It will be no surprise at all if she nets at least two winners. Her most interesting ride has to be Angel Mill (13-2 into 9-4), running in the 6.50pm. This is a Dark Angel filly trained by James Tate who has sent out four winners from his last six runners. The horse has been off the track 111 days, finishing 5th of 14 runners on debut at Kempton.

That was a satisfactory introduction to racing and she should be a different animal today with that run under her belt. The fact that connections have booked Hollie for the ride is a real sign of intent. She rode 30 winners at this track last season, operating at an 18-per-cent strike rate. As a matter of fact, she rode more winners here than at any other track.

Other interesting runners

There is also a bit of a punt taking place on Hollie’s ride in the 4.50pm. Gold Brocade has been supported from 9-1 all the way into 5-1. The filly ran a respectable race when 6th over course and distance five days ago and the yard are going well at present. In the finale, she takes the ride on Perfect Rose who has shortened in price but that is mostly down to the non-runners. Nonetheless, she has an incredible record when riding for Archie Watson. Don’t be surprised if this horse finds major improvement.
