Gamble alert: Bryony Frost ride backed into 6-1 from 14-1 at Warwick on Sunday 🚨

There’s a substantial gamble underway at Warwick on Sunday morning. One horse, who was available at 14-1 the previous evening, is now just 6-1. This market support is sustained and shows no signs of stopping. The horse in question goes in the feature race on the card and will be looking to go one better this time, having finished second in the race last year.

4.10 Warwick

Eclair De Guye is the subject of this market support and Lucy Wadham’s charge will be ridden by Bryony Frost. The nine-year-old gelding has been largely consistent this season, finishing there or thereabouts in three of his four starts. It was a below-par performance last time out when pulling up and he’ll need to bounce back here.

Currently rated 115, his last victory came off a 1lb lower mark at Huntingdon, back in December 2020. There have been some decent placed efforts since though, including when second in this race last year. His best piece of form this season  is probably his third at Sandown in December. That form has been boosted by the winner who went on to claim the Grand National Trial at Haydock when last seen.

There’s enough evidence to suggest he’s capable of winning this race but it’s been a long time since he last won, which is a cause for concern. Nonetheless, the support from the market is strong and for that reason, you can’t rule out a long awaited return to the winners’ enclosure.
