Gamble alert: Beverley runner backed into 11/1 from 33/1 on Monday

You can learn plenty from watching the betting markets so we like to keep a close eye on what’s going on. We update our market movers daily so you know what the best backed horses of the morning are. Sometimes there’s a horse that has made a significant market move that warrants special attention. This is the case on Monday as one runner at Beverley that was available at 33/1 on Sunday evening has seen its price slashed into 11/1. 4.50 Beverley

Run Simba is yet to win a race but she came pretty close to getting off the mark when second by less than a length at Ayr in August when trained by Karl Burke. That effort came off a mark of 72 and if reproducing a similar performance here, she would have to be considered well handicapped now rated 15lb lower.

She’s been an absolute no show in five all-weather starts and it would appear that she isn’t suited by an artificial surface. With that in mind, the return to turf will definitely be in her favour. It’s hard to really know what to expect from this filly but it would appear that the market is expecting improvement.

Roger Fell & Sean Murray’s She’s Got Bottle heads the market and it’s easy to see why. Returning to winning ways at Pontefract when last seen, she will surely be bang in there once again and her 5lb penalty should be manageable.

Run Simba has plenty to find in order to feature here but her best form would indicate that at least making the frame is distinctly possible.

Nap of the Day

Crooked Crown is our Nap of the day and she runs in the 2.30 at Beverley. Paul Midgley’s filly was a three-length winner of a Chepstow maiden back in June so she clearly possesses ability. Her subsequent starts in handicap company have been a little underwhelming but she has dropped to a lovely mark and looks well worth a play.
