Friday outsiders: 20-1, 14-1 and 14-1 tips to take on the bookies with 🏇

There’s plenty of competitive action on Friday with six meetings across Britain and Ireland. Liam Bramall is back with three more outsiders who could offer some value and outrun their odds. These three outsiders come from Ascot and Newcastle and are therefore spread across the day. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing. 2.00 Ascot

Spirited Guest (20-1, William Hill) hasn’t been down to a mark of 79 since winning over course and distance in July 2021. Adaptable with regards to trip, he’s effective anywhere between five and seven furlongs. Only beaten by a length-and-a-quarter here when fifth two starts ago. That was off a 3lb higher mark and he returns to 7f here. Isn’t the most prolific winner but he’s well handicapped and should run a much better race than this price suggests.

4.55 Ascot

City Runner (14-1, William Hill) has been in consistent form recently. This strong recent form includes a particularly good effort when third in a valuable York handicap two starts ago. Won at Sandown before that and was second at Newcastle over 1m2f when last seen. Race conditions should suit as there are several horses with higher ratings running off the same weight. Could be more to come from this three-year-old.

8.15 Newcastle

Ramon Di Loria (14-1, William Hill) could be well-treated here. His last win came under today’s jockey at Musselburgh in July. Things didn’t go to plan over 6f here last time but it was a good effort when third over 5f at Carlisle off this mark two starts ago. If you can forgive the below-par effort last time, there’s every chance that he could run into a place.
