Four longshots for Naas on Monday

Horse racing returns to Irish shores on Monday, June 8, with a cracking eight-race card at Naas to look forward to. We have picked out four big-priced tips that look like a bit of value below.

2:55 Naas – Louisa Von Trappe

Billy Lee is booked to ride this two-year-old Dandy Man Filly who has a very interesting pedigree to say the least.

She is a sister to the very classy winner up to 6f Peniaphobia who was a two-year-old winner over 5f and the useful two-year-old 5f winners Rapacity Alexander and Safari Sunset.

Aidan Fogarty knows how to get one ready first time out and she should have plenty of speed which is required to land this.

3:30 Naas – Laws Of Indices

Coincidentally, this is another massive outsider that is again ridden by Billy Lee who we hope will have a good day on Monday.

Trying to get maidens full of un-raced two-year-old’s right is a dangerous game but this horse definitely looks overpriced judged solely on pedigree.

This horse is a half-brother to Spirit Of Zebedee who was a five-time winner over this distance of 6f. His pedigree seems to be all speed and Ken Condon is another man who knows how to have one ready first time out.

4:30 Naas – Shorter Skirt

Jack Davidson doesn’t send out too many runners but he is an extremely efficient trainer and gets the best out of what he has.

This horse has won twice over this trip of 6f and loves rattling-fast ground. This is just her second start for the yard since leaving Eve Johnson Houghton.

On debut for the yard, she was given a very easy time of things, slowly away, and made up a lot of ground late to run on into fourth at Dundalk. With the cobwebs blown away, she looks well-handicapped and could be the one to be on.

6.35 Naas – Avarice

Ger Lyons is a master with his two-year-old’s in general and can round off the day with a winner in the finale at a big price.

This €21,000 yearling is a half-brother to Grand Spirit who won over 7f as a two-year-old and is also a half-brother to Top who was seen to best effect over middle distances.

There is a nice mix of speed and staying prowess in the bloodline and with Ger likely to have his string very forward this coming week, fitness shouldn’t be an issue.
