Follow this trainer at Yarmouth who has two huge chances on Thursday

Yarmouth Racecourse

Chris Wall is based in Newmarket and is a top handler who often goes well under the radar. Averaging about 150 runners each year at present, Wall definitely has to be considered one of the shrewdest handlers in the game.

His strike-rate in 2019 was 18 per cent, in 2020 it was 15 per cent and thus far in 2021 it is 19 per cent. Considering Aidan O’Brien operates at between 18-20 per cent in the last three years, it is evident that Wall punches well above his weight.

Wall’s favourite track is without doubt Yarmouth Racecourse and the stats prove this. He is operating at 29 per cent at the venue in 2021 and has a 22 per cent return there since 2016, quite staggering numbers.

He has two runners at Yarmouth on Thursday and it would be no surprise to see both of them win!

Five pound claimer Sebastian Woods will take the ride on Wall’s first runner of the day, Molly Shaw. The Helmet filly handles a sound surface and won over this course and distance off 53 last August. Now 10lb higher, she obviously has a tougher task at the weights but she arrives here off the back of a second at Lingfield last month. That was off a rating of 62 and she was only beaten half a length, so clearly she can handle her current rating.

Sebastian Woods is also aboard Wall’s final runner of the day at Yarmouth, the lightly-raced three-year-old Castana Dia. She also loves a sound surface and won over track and trip in a maiden in May. The second and fourth in that race have won multiple times since and she was only narrowly touched off at Newmarket on handicap bow last month. More to come.
