The recent weather has been enjoyable to say the least. The heat and sunshine has brought with it fast conditions across the country. Leicester is no different and the current going description for their meeting on Thursday evening is good to firm. With that in mind, Liam Bramall has picked out three proven winners on fast ground who should relish conditions. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Tribuna Uffizi (7-2, Paddy Power) is yet to be out of the first three in two starts on good to firm. George Scott’s gelding got off the mark on his third turf start at Windsor last time out. This handicap will provide a different test but he should be able to progress on the grass. His record on turf is significantly better than on the all-weather and with the quick underfoot conditions to suit, he could win again despite the 5lb penalty. William Buick takes the ride which is never a bad thing.
Mostallim (6-1, Paddy Power) has won or placed in 57 per cent of his starts on good to firm ground. It’s also worth adding that four of his six career victories have come under today’s jockey Frederick Larson. The last time he won on turf was at Yarmouth in July on good to firm. Having won three starts ago, he now finds himself on a just a 2lb higher mark and he should be dangerous in suitable conditions.
Devon Envoy (13-8, Paddy Power) has won his last two and appears here under a 6lb penalty. Rod Millman’s gelding loves fast conditions so much he has even won on firm ground. A record of a win and a second in four starts on good to firm is not be sniffed at especially as he’s in the form of his life. Clearly progressive, he’s effectively 2lb well in and it seems as if there’s more improvement to come.
