This is the time of year where connections love to pull off a gamble, right before Christmas. The market can be a very important factor in the week leading up to the festive period. Running off topweight in the finale at Wolverhampton tonight, Critical Thinking has been smashed off the boards for trainer David Loughnane. This horse was as big as 16-1 last night but the best price about now is 6-1 with bet365 at the time of writing this piece.
Critical Thinking would be no surprise winner here. The seven-year-old is a six-time course and distance winner so he certainly knows his way around here. He had excuses for his tame effort earlier in the month when well seen off here over the extended mile. It was his first start since April so he needed the run to blow the cobwebs away. He has spent most of 2021 running in much better races than this so the drop back into Class 6 company is just what the doctor ordered. This could be a well executed plan by the connections of the horse tonight.
