‘Confidence must be high’ – Ryan Moore rides two at the Curragh

Horse racing is in Liam's blood and his biggest passion is jumps racing. He can often be found at his favourite tracks; Chepstow and Cheltenham in the Autumn when the National Hunt action kicks off. Ryan Moore isn’t usually one for mid-week racing so it could be significant that he makes the trip over to the Curragh for two rides on Wednesday. He’s currently the leading rider at the track this season with nine winners and he’ll be hoping to make it 11. Amadeus Mozart has a smart pedigree, which will surprise no one, and the son of Wootton Bassett is distantly related to several Group winners. His sire has produced some very smart horses for Ballydoyle in recent seasons so expectations will be high for Amadeus Mozart on debut.

Aidan O’Brien has already had nine winners from 24 two-year-old runners on turf so far this season and is operating at a strike-rate of 33 per cent in the last couple of weeks. Ballydoyle juveniles tend to improve for their debuts but this colt gets the backing of Ryan Moore and a big run is anticipated.

Flushing Meadows goes in the second race of the day and Moore has sided with him ahead of stablemates and fellow debutants Lewis Carroll and Puerto Rico. Dam Hence placed in Listed races for Aidan O’Brien in her racing days and is sister to the multiple Group 1 winner Alice Springs.

Ryan Moore has been in excellent form recently and is operating at a strike-rate of 42 per cent in the last fortnight. He rode an absolute masterclass on Camille Pissarro in the Prix du Jockey Club on Sunday and further success could be on the cards here.
