Charlie Appleby’s recent strike-rate is 42% so check out this 95/1 York treble

It has been a very good couple of weeks for Charlie Appleby, as the Newmarket trainer won both the 1000 and 2000 Guineas. He’s been operating at a very impressive strike-rate of 42 per cent in the last fortnight and he’s set to send three runners to York on Friday. Appleby is surely the trainer to follow with that in mind so we’ve combined them into a juicy treble. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

3.13 York

Beautiful Love (9/2, bet365) won a Grade 3 over 1m3f at Belmont in September and probably found the trip sharp enough when a well beaten third in the Dahlia Stakes at Newmarket recently. The extended 1m2f here should be more to her liking and the ratings suggest she has every chance.

3.45 York

Alpine Trail (6/1, bet365) only made his debut February but he has shown significant potential in three starts so far. This son of Dubawi is unbeaten and ran out an impressive winner of a Listed contest at Newmarket last time out. He had plenty in hand after making all the running and went on to score by three lengths. More will be needed at this level but he looks more than ready for the step up in grade.

4.55 York

Wise Approach (6/4, bet365) cost 1,000,000 guineas and one look at his pedigree will tell you why. Appleby’s colt is half-brother to a three-time Group 1 winner and he kept on well to win a Class 2 event at Ascot on debut. Going up to 6f looks like a sensible move and it’s likely that there’s more to come.
