There’s some decent action at Chelmsford to sink your teeth into on Thursday evening. The feature race on the card is the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Handicap at 7.40. Liam Bramall has picked out four horses with proven records at the Essex track and they form a 441-1 accumulator. Check out our free tips page for content across all British and Irish racing.
Glasstrees (5-2, Paddy Power) is the only one of the four selections to have not won at Chelmsford. Her addition could prove wise however as she was second over 5f last time out on her only start here. That effort was evidence of progression and if the step back up to 6f is successful, she could improve again. This isn’t a strong race so a repeat of that effort off the same mark would likely be enough to take this.
Dubai Hope (15-8, William Hill) arrives here with a record of a win and a third in two starts. The third-place effort was on seasonal debut and she wasn’t beaten far. She improved for that when winning here over 7f last time out. Dropping back to 6f doesn’t seem to be an issue as she was a four-length winner on her last start at the trip. As she’s fairly lightly raced, there could still be more to come.
Bayston Hill (10-1, bet365) is a regular visitor here with 17 career starts to his name. He has won five and placed a further six times giving him a consistent record. His last win came here in January 2021 off a 10lb higher mark. On that evidence, he’s surely well handicapped on his first try at 1m6f.
Lila Girl (3-1, Paddy Power) has progressed nicely in each of her three career starts. It was a gutsy win over course and distance last time having finished second here two starts ago. There should be plenty more to come from her on handicap debut off a not too taxing mark of 71.
