Champion jockey contender has four Thursday rides for a £107,704 Lucky 15

Ffos Las Racecourse

It’s still a three horse race for the Champion Jockey title. While Brian Hughes and Harry Skelton would look to hold a stronger position at present, Harry Cobden will still fancy his chances. Cobden has four rides at Ffos Las on Thursday and all four are double figure prices.

There will certainly be no lack of effort on Cobden’s part with Skelton at Uttoxeter and Hughes at Wetherby. We will have free horse racing tips for all those cards as well as Clonmel and Chelmsford. Let’s dig deeper into what would be a huge paying each way Lucky 15 to a 50p each way stake.

1.55 Ffos Las – Turf Services Ltd Handicap Hurdle

Having missed twenty-two months, it was no surprise that Coastal Drift looked to need his return to action at Sandown. That came in December when his yard were struggling as well. He didn’t shape with much immediate promise but he showed enough as a novice to think that he can find a small handicap.

3.00 Ffos Las – Trustmark Design & Print Novices’ Handicap Chase

Two good runs this season and three modest ones, it’s hard to know which Carrick Roads will turn up. His win came over the stiffest stamina test he has faced this campaign as well as the soundest surface. It’s good to soft at Ffos Las at present, returning to three miles. Both are in his favour for all that he is hard to trust implicitly.

4.37 Ffos Las – Potters Canter Carpet West Wales National

This won’t be quite the slog it can sometimes be but will still take plenty of getting. The more the ground dries out for Sizing At Midnight the better, placed from this mark at Exeter in October. He would’ve gone close in the Badger Beers after that but for falling three out, that from three pounds higher. Lost his confidence since but is well enough treated if bouncing back.

5.10 Ffos Las – Turf Services Ltd Mares’ Handicap Hurdle

Bogged down on very soft ground at Kelso last time, Miss Mahmite is another of Cobden’s rides who will appreciate some more drying of the surface. She ran Didonato to four and a half lengths prior to that Kelso run, that rival winning on her handicap debut off 120. A mark of 110 should be well within her capabilities therefore sent on a long trip down from North Yorkshire.
