Can Aidan O’Brien make it 5/7? 40-1 ante-post tip for Saturday’s Futurity Trophy 🏆

The final Group 1 of the British turf season takes place at Doncaster on Saturday and it’ll be competitive. Aidan O’Brien has won four of the last six renewals of the race and will be looking to claim victory for the third year running. The maestro has won it 11 times in total and is responsible for the ante-post favourite. We think he’ll win the big race but perhaps not with the horse everyone expects. This 40-1 shot looks tailor-made for the race and is capable of outrunning his odds, if lining up. You can check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

Futurity Trophy

Henry Adams (40-1, bet365) has already won a Group 3, having scored in the Tyros Stakes at Leopardstown in July. The front two pulled well clear that day and the performance showed plenty of promise. That came after a narrow victory on debut over 7f at Naas and he clearly improved between starts.

He was a fair fourth at Longchamp on his penultimate start, where he had to make his own running. Not much went right for him in the Dewhurst Stakes last time out, as he stumbled soon after the start and had no chance after that. That being said, he kept on to finish fourth and shaped as if he’s crying out for a longer trip.

The step up to a mile should be a massive positive as he’s out of a Galileo mare and has looked a little outpaced over 7f in his last couple of starts. Heavy ground is a significant possibility and that could blunt the finishing speed of the quicker horses. Henry Adams should have every chance of running a big race.
