‘Both horses have a great chance’ – Saturday horses for courses Newcastle double 🚀

Course form can be absolutely crucial when looking for a winner. If you know your way around a place, you are going to have an advantage over somebody who has never been there before. The same applies to horses – knowing your way around a venue is always a big advantage. Adrian Wall has picked out two former course winners at Newcastle Racecourse on Monday. He has formed an nice double with the pair, who have big chances individually. It can be backed using the betslip above.

4.00 Newcastle

Absolutely thriving at present, the George Boughey runner Pocket The Packet really should be winning this. The son of Mayson has won four of his last five starts, including two over this course and distance. Sent off favourite in each of his last four starts, he again defied a new mark at Lingfield comfortably latest and a further 6lb penalty is unlikely to halt his progression. Boughey is well known for his training of juveniles; he is a master at it, and we haven’t seen the bottom of this horse.

4.30 Newcastle

William Haggas has an incredible 31 per cent strike rate at Newcastle in the last five years, and his progressive Brewing will take all the beating in this 0-85 rated handicap. The son of Showcasing bolted up over this course and distance on debut in October, and overcame adversity to get up in the shadows of the post last time at Kempton. The return to this straight track will suit him and he should be well ahead of his mark on handicap bow with a promising claimer on top.
