All-weather outsiders: 22-1, 18-1, 14-1 and 12-1 tips at Kempton and Southwell ❄️☀️

We’ve hit the middle of winter and there are two all-weather meetings taking place on Tuesday. There’s afternoon racing from Kempton and an evening meeting from Southwell. We’ve selected two outsiders from each meeting to consider. Having gone through the racing, these four contenders may have been unfairly ignored in the market. 1.40 Kempton

Fully Deployed (14-1, William Hill) is only thrice-raced so far. He showed little in his first two starts at Newmarket and Kempton but did improve between those efforts. Improved slightly again at Newmarket when last seen in September, finishing sixth and beaten by a just over six lengths. Realistically, this horse isn’t going to be judged on his performances in Newmarket maidens and should thrive now handicapping. 65 is a reasonable opening mark and we should start to see what he’s made of from now on.

2.10 Kempton

Simply Gorgeous (22-1, William Hill) shouldn’t be given up on just yet. Her run here over 7f in March is the best we’ve seen so far. She finished fifth and was beaten by five-and-a-quarter lengths off a mark of 66. Currently rated 8lb lower than that and if she can replicate that performance off this mark, surely won’t be far away at the finish. Makes her debut for Phil McEntee here and the change of scenery could facilitate a change of fortune.

6.00 Southwell

Turbo Tiger (18-1, bet365) is another very lightly raced runner with just six career starts to date. Two of his runs in Wolverhampton maidens indicated he should be well capable of winning at this level. Comfortably beaten on handicap debut last time but definitely worth giving another go off a 4lb lower mark here.

6.30 Southwell

Brasca (12-1, bet365) returned in September after a 389-day absence. A little disappointing the last twice but his two-length fourth over course and distance back in October is a solid piece of form. That effort came off a mark of 84 and his recent runs have seen him slip to 81. If he can repeat the course and distance effort here, a return to the winners’ enclosure could be on the cards.
