Adrian Wall’s 33-1 & 28-1 Outsiders for Day 2 of the York Ebor Festival

Yorkshire Cup

Adrian Wall looks ahead to the second day of the York Ebor Meeting on Thursday the 19th of August. The feature race of the day is the Group 1 Darley Yorkshire Oaks where Aidan O’Brien’s Snowfall will be a tough horse to beat. Adrian has picked out two tips at 33-1 and 28-1 who should both outrun their large odds. Make sure that you check out our free ITV Racing tips which are uploaded to the site every evening.

This race has been targeted by the same few trainers each year and the results show that. Ony four trainers have won the race since 2010 with Richard Hannon winning four, William Haggas three, Richard Fahey two and Kevin Ryan two. It’s an open race but Hollie Doyle rides an interesting one for Fahey, a horse called Adeb. Nothing went his way on handicap debut at Goodwood which is a quirky track. However, he was a very easy winner of a Beverley maiden after a gelding operation in July. That race has worked out well with the third, fifth and sixth all winning since which looks like strong form now.

3.00 York

Indeed is having his first start for the Sylvester Kirk stable off the back of a lengthy 428-day absence so it would be understandable if you ran a mile from a bet on this lad. However, if he is anywhere near his best on his return then a mark of 103 could look pretty lenient. He likes a sound surface and in the summer of 2019 won at Newmarket off 100 before going on to finish second in a Group 3 at the same track that October. If he gets back to anywhere near that level of form then he is a player in this.
