Just the three runners go to post for this handicap chase for novices but it is surprising to see the Paddy Neville trained Fusain (10-1) at double-digit odds here. Neville had a brilliant day at Catterick on Monday and actually won a three runner affair at odds of 9-1 on the day too. He has a very good strike-rate this year and there’s more to the yard than The Real Whacker.
Just the seven runners go to post for this Grade 2 contest and the horse that is probably overlooked here is the Skelton runner, Vicki Vale (10-1). This mare looked like a proper horse when winning by 17 lengths on her rules debut at Hereford over 2m4f over hurdles. Then pulled up in the Challow, she went off way too hard in that on the day and ran much better in second at Ffos Las when last seen.
Autumn Flight (12-1) has gone 17 runs without a winner but he has to be of interest receiving weight from the entire field here. The former course winner was last successful off a mark of 83 on grass in 2021, but can now run off just 57 on an artificial surface. He ran well lately and looks poised to strike soon.
