98-1 accumulator: three fast-ground horses to follow at Windsor on Tuesday

Windsor Racecourse

With a good dry spell for the last couple of weeks, fast ground looks almost guaranteed at Windsor on Tuesday evening. That narrows down the options when looking through the card for runners who will relish their hooves rattling. A study of the card has found three runners who tick all the ground boxes and together form a 98-1 accumulator. The treble can be backed with William Hill at the time of publishing this article.

Second Collection was value for much more than her narrow winning margin over 5f here at Windsor last time out. The mare was very slowly away and had to work hard over the minimum to get on top near the line. It was a terrific ride from the talented Hollie Doyle who keeps the ride. Now stepping up to 6f, if she is slowly away again she will have ample time to recover but she looks ahead of the assessor still off this mark and loves a sound surface.

Autumn Flight made every post a winning one when making all in a Class 3 0-90 handicap over track and trip last month. He now takes a drop in class into Class 4 in a 0-85 so has an obvious chance to follow up. Showing a real appreciation for the good to firm ground here last time out, it will take a good horse to reel him back in here.

In a six runner affair, it is hard to believe that South Audley has opened 10-1 with William Hill and I am not sure that will last. He bolted up on good to firm in a Nottingham maiden in June, by far his best run yet. He was slightly outclassed at Goodwood after that and didn’t threaten at Newmarket when last seen but this will be the first time he has encountered fast ground since his win.
