17th December 2017 was a day to remember for MRT followers which started with a winning NAP and just got better and better.

The big race of the day at Navan was the Grade 2 Novice Hurdle which featured our NAP Next Destination, who got us off to the perfect start by romping home for Willie and David Mullins. He was well backed throughout the day and never looked in danger, travelling powerfully before pulling away in great style to win by five and a half lengths.

The winners kept coming at Navan as Diamond Cauchois, tipped at 3/1, cantered home in the hands of a cool Davy Russell to win for Gordon Elliott and Gigginstown, bringing up the first leg of the Lucky 15 in the process. The next leg would go off just an hour later and this time it was Andrew Lynche who steered Goose Man to a first win over fences at a tasty price of 5/1, reversing the form with hot favourite Without Limites in the process. The Lucky15 was off to a flyer and the third leg ran just ten minutes later over at Thurles, High School Days was weak in the market but could be named the winner a long way out under Dylan Robinson and did it very easily to be the third winning leg at an SP of 9/2.

A nervous thirty minutes were ahead but Excellent George eased some of the tension by going in at 6/1 on the All Weather at Chelmsford to land another single tip. Sizing Titanium was yet another winner as he stayed on powerfully under a patient Robbie Power at Thurles having been tipped at 16/1 and backed into 5/1 before the off. Dom Dolo was the last leg of the Lucky15 and tension was high at MRT HQ as they got underway in the 3:10 at Thurles, there were few anxious moments during the race however as Denis O’Regan’s charge travelled like much the best horse throughout before extending away to win by five and a half lengths, completing a huge 95/1 Lucky15 winner for MRT followers just in time to pay for all the Christmas shopping!

Cookie Ring was the icing on an already extremely tasty cake when staying on to land yet another winner for MRT at 9/1 in the last at Chelmsford, WHAT A DAY!
