7-1 Irish raiders double: Elliott & Cromwell with two huge chances at Sandown 🚛

We have a very nice card to look forward to at Sandown Racecourse on Thursday and what makes it even more interesting is the fact the Irish are coming over to try and spoil the party, again! Gordon Elliott and Gavin Cromwell both send a runner each to the track and on paper both have huge chances. Remember to check out our free horse racing tips where you can find our Nap of the Day too!

2.25 Sandown

Gordon Elliott runs the talented Deeply Superficial in the Grade 2 Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle over just shy of 2m4f and she deserves plenty of respect. Willie Mullins won this race back in 2015 so the Irish have some history in the race. This mare is closely related to very smart Diamond King and was successful on her sole outing in points. She won a maiden hurdle on rules debut at Galway back in October and was fourth in a really hot race at Naas when last seen. This is easier.

4.10 Sandown

Gavin Cromwell sends over recent winner Stumptown to take his chance in this Class 3 handicap chase over three miles. This boy jumped with much more accuracy than in his previous few runs over fences when absolutely bolting up in a handicap chase by 12 lengths at Thurles over 2m6f last month. He now has a massive 13lb higher mark to overcome, but if he comes here in similar mood he will be a tough horse to beat. Cromwell usually only sends them over to Britain if he really fancies them so the fact he is here could be a good omen.
