It’s a busy day of racing on Sunday. Three meetings in England at Kempton, Ffos Las and Sedgefield with Cork and Naas in action in Ireland. We’ve scoured them all to come up with a stats angle for each meeting which you can back with VirginBet.
Rachael Blackmore has had seven rides for Ellmarie Holden at Cork and four have won for a level stakes profit of +£15.25. Knockmoylan has shown promise in a pair of runs in bumpers and given the record of his jockey and trainer, it would be no surprise to see him score at the first time of asking over hurdles.
James Davies has had six rides for Nick Gifford so far this season with two winners and three thirds for a level stakes profit of +£20.00. They team up here with Fairway Freddie who is an inconsistent type but his career best run came at Kempton over hurdles so the return to this venue has to make him of serious interest.
Ger Lyons has had three runners in this race over the years and two have won. That has produced a level stakes profit of +£6.25. A consistent type, she has a pair of places at this Listed level so far in 2020 as well as a Group 3 pair. She looks hard to keep out of the frame given her run of form.
Nicky Henderson has an exceptional record with bumper runners at Ffos Las. 9/19 is a 47% strike rate for a level stakes profit of+£7.34. Of those runner he’s had four making their racecourse debut and two have won. Owned by JP McManus, he missed his intended debut at Chepstow due to the ground and the softer surface here is expected to suit him.
Dr Richard Newland has had four runners in the Durham National down the years and remarkably has walked away with three winners in 2014, 2015 and 2017. Just a six-year-old, he’s yet to try a trip this far but he shaped as if it is well worth a try when running over three miles last time out. He is fitted with cheekpieces for the first time now in a bid to get a little more from him.
