3 front runners who it could pay to follow at Catterick on Monday

Catterick Racecourse

Catterick is a real front runners track so it generally pays to follow horses who like to take the race by the scruff of the neck. It is a very tight, sharp left-handed circuit and it is extremely difficult to make significant ground up from midfield or the rear.

Adrian Wall has studied the card in depth and has come up with three horses who could lead them a merry dance from the front. To give yourself the best chance of success around here, you must be prominent.

2.20 Catterick

Naughty Ana will try her best to bounce out of stall seven and make all in this sharp contest just shy of 6f. Tim Easterby’s filly ran a great race in second at Thirsk 10 days ago when sent off the 7-2 favourite and she will race from the same mark. She may well got a soft lead here and the first-time visor could bring out further improvement.

2.55 Catterick

Hollie Doyle is a top booking for the Jennie Candlish-trained Hachert, who arrives here knocking down the door in search of that deserved win. The front runner has a decent draw in stall six and has placed in each of his last three races including when second over track and trip from this mark last month. Major claims.

3.30 Catterick

Liam Bailey doesn’t get too many winners these days but the top weight How Bizarre could run a screamer in this. He ran too bad to be true at Musselburgh last time out when sent off the 9-2 favourite. A horse that needs and likes to lead from the off, if he is given a soft lead up front here he may well be hard to peg back off this mark.
