26-1 double: follow this female rider with 50 per cent Brighton strike-rate

Brighton Racecourse

Grace McEntee is having her best season ever in the saddle, already netting 17 winners in 2021. Her total for 2020 was 13 so she is doing incredibly well for herself. Given the fact that she goes well under the radar, she is often vastly overpriced and we can take full advantage at Brighton Racecourse on Thursday. She has an incredible 50 per cent return at the track this year, winning five times from her 10 rides there. With two solid chances to come, let’s take a closer look at the runners.

Contingency Fee is in the form of his life and is now seeking a five-timer for trainer Phil McEntee. Grace will take the ride yet again and he battled very gamely to win at Bath on firm ground off a mark of 67 last month. Two of those four wins have come here at Brighton and this horse is very versatile. He can go on any type of ground that has good in description but the faster the better. Up another 3lb for his latest win, he still looks feasibly treated and it would be no surprise at all if he could keep the run going.

Another horse in the form of his life is Otago, who is seeking a hat-trick of victories in the finale. McEntee will be riding for Jim Boyle on this occasion and this will be the first time that she will get up on the horse. Both of his recent wins have come at Epsom which is a quirky track and has a few similarities to Brighton. He too loves a sound surface and he has track experience which can count for a lot.
