178-1 RPR top-rated accumulator for Wincanton on Monday

Wincanton Racecourse

There are four meetings to look forward to on Monday, with Wincanton, Fontwell, Stratford and Wolverhampton on the agenda. We’ll have horse racing tips for all the action, including a NAP of the Day and accumulator tips!

We’ll be focusing on Wincanton in the article, however, whose seven-race card stages plenty of competitive racing. If you like following the statistics, then we’ve found four horses who are clear on RPR ratings at the venue on Monday. Together, they make into an 178-1 accumulator and can be found below!

1.00 Wincanton – Confirmation Bias

On the RPR ratings, this is a good opportunity for Paul Nicholl’s Confirmation Bias to get off the mark. He’s seven pounds clear on ratings, with two recent poor runs coming over a distance he didn’t see out. His best effort thus far came when a head second at Taunton in November, producing an RPR of 114, comfortably the best figure in this contest.

A repeat of that sort of effort would make him very tough to beat and two subsequent runs in handicaps, as mentioned, saw him running over further. Back down in distance, with the cheekpieces added, he’ll struggle to find better chances than this to shed his maiden tag.

2.00 Wincanton – Iron Mike

A six-race maiden over timber thus far, Iron Mike has run some very good races in defeat and comes out four pounds clear on RPR ratings. He’s finished second on two of his three starts, including a narrow second at Wincanton three starts ago. That form has worked out well since, with On To Victory winning again and Leylak placing in an Ascot handicap yesterday off a mark of 116.

On that basis, a mark of 122 looks more than fair for his handicap debut. Good ground won’t be an inconvenience and a return to 2m 5f will help matters. He placed over this distance on debut, his only try of it thus far and back at this trip, a big run has to be expected.

2.30 Wincanton – Kauto The King

Winning over course and distance back in October, a return to Wincanton could rejuvenate Kauto The King. Colin Tizzard’s charge placed on his two subsequent starts, including off today’s rating, before a pair of disappointing efforts earlier this year.

He’s capable of better than that, however, and RPR ratings put him seven pounds clear of his rivals. He remains unexposed over fences after just five starts and further improvement could feasibly on the cards. Back on better ground with Harry Cobden aboard, he’s one to take very seriously.

3.30 Wincanton – Ballybough Nora

Although third-favourite, Ballybough Nora is the RPR highest-rated and is a tempting price in the penultimate contest. A point to point winner, she’s been very unlucky not to break her duck over fences, having finishing second on three occasions.

Her most recent run at Exeter, where she finished a respectable fifth, came in a higher grade and she can appreciate these calmer waters today. Her sole victory thus under rules came on better ground, so that’s another positive, and she’s two pounds lower in the ratings. If she can raise her level just a little bit, she’ll be heavily involved.
