myracing Greyhound Syndicate Update – 27th August 2018

Droopys Dazzle

This week’s latest syndicate update comes from one of our syndicate managers David Mitchell:

Droopys Dazzle Retires

It is with great sadness that I announce that one of our first pups Droopys Dazzle has retired from competitive racing. I say with great sadness but the memories of her big day days at the track will long live with our owners. Dazzle spent her entire career at Crayford and in the early days she produced some stunning efforts. She was long thought of as a star in the making over 6 bends but due to a reoccurring injury she was unable to fulfill that promise. Her best day came in mid-July last year when she produced a stunning effort to win by nearly 4 lengths stopping the clock in a fast 23.50. After she broke into season we noticed that she took a long time to come back to full fitness and it was discovered that she had a weakened immune system. The decision was then taken to find her a forever home and sofa to live our the rest of her days. We were really fortunate that one of owners Father was willing to give her that home and she’s settled in well into her new surroundings. We’ll keep popping our heads in to see how she’s getting on throughout the rest of her life. It’s with great pride that we’ve been able to have a pup from such an early age right through to retirement and this is testament to the owners involved in our syndicate.

What’s Been Happening

Ass many of you will know we’ve enjoyed a real purple patch at the minute with both Droopys Nuka and Droopys Hyde both spending time on the winners podium. Nuka won the night we sponsored races at Crayford and our owners shared plenty of drinks that evening. Droopys Hyde produced a stunning effort two days ago to win in a fast time for the grade and he would be the one to follow over the coming weeks. Meenagh Mourinho is still off for at least another week as he makes his long awaited comeback. We all know how good he is and this break should do him the world of good. Jacob’s Fire ran a cracker last week where she looked green as grass which is expected for such a young dog. She led a nice field up but was just caught in the shadow of the post. No doubt she will be a due a victory sooner rather than later.

The Week Ahead

Jacobs Fire is declared for tomorrow at 13.31. She’s looking to step up on her stunning effort recently in an S4 race. We’ll have our usual review out but at first glance it looks like an excellent chance for her.

Droopys Hyde will be back out later this week with an expected upgrade. If he was to build on his latest run he would go into that with a live chance.

Droopys Nuka like Hyde will have another chance to recapture a bit of form she showed a few weeks ago. Hopefully she’ll get a welcome downgrade which will give her a big chance.
