All-Weather Thursday! Betting Pointers + 296/1 Acca

Southwell Racecourse

The evening action on Thursday is an All-Weather bonanza, with meetings at both Chelmsford and Southwell capping off the day. We’ve gone through the card and found some interesting runners that look to have great chances thanks to the statistics. Trainer/Jockey Combination

Certain trainer and jockey combinations burn red-hot at specific venues and that’s no different for Chelmsford on Thursday, where Roger Charlton and Jason Watson look to strike.

When Roger Charlton and Jason Watson team up, they are a potent combination. They have a combined 29% strike-rate at Chelmsford and run the interesting Tavus in the long-distance handicap. He’s on a hat-trick bid after wins over twelve and fourteen furlongs and despite another five-pound rise, another win is very possible for this deadly duo.

Headgear Additions

The changing and adding of headgear is always a very interesting angle into racing, especially when you’re looking at lower grade handicaps, where trainers are looking to squeeze the maximum out of their runners.

Already a triple course and distance winner, Mininggold is only a pound above her last winning mark and gets the cheekpieces for today’s assignment. Her yard is amongst the winners and back at her favoured Southwell, a big run has to be expected.

Agent Of Fortune currently sits two pounds below her last winning mark and is a previous course winner. Her connections swap out the cheekpieces for the visor today, which is a very interesting change. Adam Kirby takes over and it would be no surprise to see her right in the firing line.

In-Form Jockey

Hollie Doyle (9/34 in the past two weeks) can do no wrong at present and although his price certainly is on the short-side and her best chance of the evening looks to be He’s A Laddie. He was ridden by Doyle for a pair of cozy novice victories last month, finding Listed company tough at York on his latest outing. He now goes handicapping off an attractive mark and Archie Watson is 1/3 with his two-year-olds on the All-Weather.
